Temple idol from Tamil Nadu surfaces in Australia
A thousand-year-old stone sculpture of Ardhanarisvara from the Virddhagesevarar
temple in Vriddhachalam in Tamil Nadu has shown up at the Art Gallery of
New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.
The Chola-period Ardhanarisvara is from the 10th century of the present era.
Temple authorities in Vriddhachalam are apparently not aware of the theft of this statue from the temple!
